FIDM DEBUT 2016

Forever 21 Jacket + Bodysuit + Pencil Skirt, Gojane Heels, Zara Bag, Etsy Velvet Choker

Debut 2016 was nothing short of amazing. I've attended a total of 3 Debut shows now. The first time I saw it was when I got accepted into FIDM two years ago. The second time around I was a student, and this time I watched it as a graduate. I totally recommend everyone who loves fashion to attend at least one show. It's an inspiration to watch all the talented designers collections. I can't even begin to imagine how hard they worked to create such beautiful lines.

Let's be honest... (FIDM students can relate) This school is no joke. The past two years have been the most stressful experience of my life, but attending FIDM is the best decision I've ever made. Congrats to all the designers! Your collections were gorgeous. Also, a big congratulations to all the FIDM graduates. We did it!!!

One degree down and another one to go. Wish me the best of luck on getting into the next program.

Spring Fling

Spring Fling

This season be ready to mix and match your styles because everything about this random selection is a combo of girly, sporty, chic, western, and an overdose of the 90's. Spruce up your spring style with these must have items.
  • Wrap Choker + Neckercheif
  • Flat Mirrored Lens Sunglasses
  • Graphic Tee's
  • Backpack
  • Chunky Block Heels
  • Lace Up Flats
  • Earring Pins
  • Baseball Caps
  • Western Belts
Here are some ways I like to style these trends. Remember to have fun with your looks ladies and gents. Afterall, life is too short to wear boring clothes... or in this case wear boring accessories/shoes.

JANUARY INSPO

It's a little hard to keep up with all the latest and greatest trends. I obsess over so many things, but then something new comes along and I'm captivated by the next fad. Oh, the ever so wonderful world of fashion. Always evolving. Since my obsessions change constantly I wanted to share some of the things I've been loving this month.
(Btw I pulled these photos off of Pinterest

Lace Camisoles
I'm all about essentials aka key pieces in your closet... the lace cami is definitely an item you can wear all year round. The "lingerie look" was all the rage on the runways of NYFW, and I don't see it dying down anytime soon.

Tuxedo/Blazer Dresses
I applaud women who can wear a perfectly polished pantsuit (try saying that 3 times fast). In my opinion, it's one of the hardest looks to pull off. Luckily, the tuxedo dress is right up my alley. A feminine spin on a tux... So chic! I desperately need it in my wardrobe.

Sneakers
Comfortability is key nowadays. Pairing your outfit with sneakers is a trend I'm absolutely in love with. Sneakers are always a little tricky to dress up. I'm always worried about whether I look too casual, but if styled correctly you can look just as effortless as these girls in the photos. Just think of how happy and sore-free your feet will be.

Layered Necklaces & Black Chokers
Michael Kors said that accessories are the exclamation point of a women's outfit, and I couldn't agree more. Every women is different. Some like to over-acessorize, and others not at all. I like to stick with a happy medium. Two things that's been circulating my feeds are chokers and layered necklaces. Layered necklaces speak for itself, and it can make all the difference if you pair it with a simple outfit. I can't tell you how excited I am to sport a black choker again. Talk about 8th grade nostalgia...

Nude Lips
For an everyday casual look I usually gravitate towards the mauve and "lolita" like colors for my lips, but lately I've been all about nudes. Actually it's more like nude as in singular, because the one I've been wearing is Too Faced Melted Nude Liquid Lipstick. It's a struggle for me to find a nude shade that doesn't wash me out completely. So you can imagine my excitement to finally get some positive feedback on this one particular color.

2016

It's officially 2016! You know what that means... Today is the first blank page of a 365 page book. I can't help but feel incredibly blessed thinking about the past year. I'm looking forward to another year filled with so much love, adventures, and accomplishments.

It's kinda mandatory for a new year to come with new goals. I've decided to not take my resolutions too seriously this year. The older I get the more I realize that life's too short to be so serious. 2016, I'm ready for anything you throw my way!

  1. PUT DOWN THE PHONE - I want to live in the moment. Whether it be at a restaurant or hanging out with friends/family, I WANT TO BE PRESENT. Social media can wait. That tweet or Instagram post isn't that important. Give attention to your love ones and hopefully it'll be reciprocated.
  2. NO MORE MAN BUN - My boyfriend's man bun has to go. He had it for all of 2015 and it's become my mission to get him to cut it off completely. Wish me luck!
  3. GET OVER IT - I need to stop holding these grudges I've had since forever. I'm such a stubborn person and it's time for me to grow up and get over it. I have bigger fish to fry, and thinking about unimportant things of the past is just a waste of time and energy. Good vibes only for the new year.
  4. COLOR + PATTERN - This one might be my biggest challenge. I want to incorporate more colors and patterns into my wardrobe. Black is beautiful, but a little bold bravery can't hurt.

Spring 2016 RTW

Givenchy

Vera Wang

 Rachel Zoe

It's that time of the year again.... New York Fashion Week! One day, I hope to attend this event so I can witness these beautiful collections in the flesh. Until then I'll just be adoring them through my laptop screen. I was pretty surprised to see that many designers stuck to a darker/neutral color palette with pops of bold colors here and there. One evident color featured in almost all the collections was the color white.

Givenchy, Vera Wang, and Rachel Zoe are my top 3 favorites for this upcoming Spring. Givenchy's collection was sexy and sophisticated, incorporating lots of silk and delicate lace. It was a mixture of lingerie and tuxedo suits, and let's talk about the detailing of these garments! (emoji heart eyes) Vera Wang never disappoints. She continues to evolve in every collection she designs. Her spring collection definitely gave you a sense of a put together girl with a sassy/edgy twist. I loved how she styled a structured see-through top with the cute sports bra underneath. Rachel Zoe's collection embodied more of a boho chic vibe. Sand white ruffle tops, light and airy maxi dresses, and playful fringe. Very modern seventies look.
