One of my favorite things about fashion is everything old is made new again. Just take a look at what I'm wearing. I have on a Members only jacket, a Dooney Bourke leather bag, shiny leggings, and Adidas Superstar shoes. Subconsciously, I was totally inspired by the 80's in this outfit. I look at it as a very toned down mix of Run DMC and Michael Jackson with a feminine twist.

Spring 2016 RTW
Givenchy
Vera Wang
Rachel Zoe
It's that time of the year again.... New York Fashion Week! One day, I hope to attend this event so I can witness these beautiful collections in the flesh. Until then I'll just be adoring them through my laptop screen. I was pretty surprised to see that many designers stuck to a darker/neutral color palette with pops of bold colors here and there. One evident color featured in almost all the collections was the color white.
Givenchy, Vera Wang, and Rachel Zoe are my top 3 favorites for this upcoming Spring. Givenchy's collection was sexy and sophisticated, incorporating lots of silk and delicate lace. It was a mixture of lingerie and tuxedo suits, and let's talk about the detailing of these garments! (emoji heart eyes) Vera Wang never disappoints. She continues to evolve in every collection she designs. Her spring collection definitely gave you a sense of a put together girl with a sassy/edgy twist. I loved how she styled a structured see-through top with the cute sports bra underneath. Rachel Zoe's collection embodied more of a boho chic vibe. Sand white ruffle tops, light and airy maxi dresses, and playful fringe. Very modern seventies look.

BALBOA ISLAND, NEWPORT BEACH
This post is about two months late, but better now than never. For our 6 year anniversary we decided to explore Newport Beach. We literally had nothing planned out. Everything we did we played by ear. The morning started off with a harbor boat tour where we spotted sea lions, dolphins, and a bunch of ocean front celebrity homes/mansions. We also took the ferry across the way to Balboa Island. This little island is the cutest community filled with shops, restaurants, and gorgeous houses. If you're ever in the area I would recommend trying: Mama D's Italian Kitchen, The Original Frozen Banana, Balboa Candy, and The Fun Zone Boat Company.

NEUTRAL EYES + DARK LIPS
Congratulations to my dear friend Haley Vest aka Vest Dressed, who's going to be a Style Guru for College Fashionista this fall. Last week, she asked if she could feature me in her beauty post and before I agreed I was actually thinking of backing out. I was completely hesitant to say yes because obviously my makeup skills aren't up to par. I dabble in hopes that my face will end up looking decent-ish.
I went with a neutral eye and dark lips since we were going for more of a fall look. Above are some photos taken by Haley, and the one below is a similar look I did a week prior with the same concept. Details listed below...
- Make Up For Ever HD Foundation 127 dark sand
- Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles in light pale

UNLUCKY LABOR DAY
You know September is in full swing when you pick up your ten pound copy of Vogue magazine. Unlucky for me, I'm spending this gorgeous Labor day weekend bed ridden. All I have to keep me company is Queen B, Labor day online sales, and re-runs of The Rich Kids of Beverly Hills. I hope everyone else is having a fulfilled couple of days. I'm looking forward to a speedy recovery, the end of my summer quarter at FIDM, and my two week vacation. Mexico here I come... (:

MUSE & MENSWEAR
Supreme hat, EPTM shirt, Cotton On pants, Nike shoes, Herschel backpack, Casio watch
There's no doubt that I enjoy being behind the camera. There's something so stimulating about visually appealing photos. For the most part I'm a detailed oriented person, but I also think it's important to have the ability to see the bigger picture. Presentation is everything! I've always had an interest in menswear, so why not showcase it from my point of view with my very own muse.
(And no, he's not wearing my shoes. He loved mine so much I got him a pair too.)

NIKE FREE 4.0 FLYKNIT
I couldn't be happier with my latest Nike purchase. Since I'm fairly active at the gym year round it was finally time for me to retire my Flyknit Lunars. Before I had the Nike Flyknit Lunar 1+ I had the Nike Free Run 2. I was immediately drawn to the Nike Free 4.0 Flyknit, because it was kind of like having the best of both worlds. I also decided to get the Pure Platinum color instead of my usual black because the intricate patterns on the shoe appeared bolder than the rest. Since I just got them the other day I haven't had time to test them out at the gym. I've sported them around the apartment and so far I'm in love. It's everything I look for in shoes; comfort, style, and quality.
