2016

I'm all in my feels right now reading everyone's 2016 posts on Instagram. I don't even know where to begin. 2016 has been without a doubt one of the best years I've ever had. Simply put by Kylie Jenner, "this year is really about just realizing stuff." Lol! But in all seriousness, I really feel like I grew up this year. I finished my Merchandise Marketing program and I graduated from FIDM. I was a social media marketing intern for an online clothing company, and soon after I landed a job at a well established company working in their corporate office as a visual stylist assistant. I'm also continuing my education at FIDM as a full time student in the Business Management program. It's so nice to finally know that I'm headed in the right direction, especially in my career. I moved to California to better myself and in the process I ended up finding out what I really wanted to do with my life. I can't help but feel so incredibly blessed reflecting back on this past year. I hope that 2017 will bring me just as much happiness, success, and love.

Goodbye 2016, you've been nothing short of amazing!

xoxo

NEW HAIR. WHO DIS?

Before + After

After careful consideration I finally decided to try something totally different with my hair. Besides an ombre back in 2013 and a subtle balayage that I kept for 6 months last year, I've always played it safe with dark hair. This spontaneous decision was sparked by my best friend a month back when she told me she could picture me with really light hair. Here I am, a month later with my hair at the lightest I've ever had it. I think the expression my stylist Hannah used was "Ashy bronde (a mix of brown + blonde)." I'm so happy with the outcome. I feel like my bronde hair definitely brightens up my face and complements my skin tone very nicely. I'm already thinking of taking it a bit lighter in a month.

SWEATER WEATHER

Sweater weather is among us and ya girl is completely obsessed. I'm in love with exaggerated unique details. This season it's all about turning something as plain and simple as a sweater into a one of a kind piece that makes a statement.

Can I have them all please?

HIATUS

Please excuse my little hiatus. The past three months have been hectic as hell. Let me catch you up on what's been going on in my life. Ready?
As you know I finished my Merchandise Marketing program at FIDM in March, and I landed my social media marketing internship with 2020AVE soon after. My family flew down for my graduation at the end of June, and that lead to a mini Vegas getaway and some family fun at Universal Studios. My boyfriend and I just celebrated our 7 year anniversary on July 6th so we took a spontaneous road trip to San Francisco for a couple of days. A week later I started my Business Management program at FIDM. Currently I'm wrapping up my internship at 2020AVE, and I'm looking for another one (a paid internship to be exact).  I've just been so preoccupied lately, but I'm coming back. Don't sleep on me just yet.

If I ever go MIA again, you can definitely catch me posting on the gram.

MOCA GRAND

Forever 21 Jacket + Cami, Cotton On Pants, Agaci Booties, Dooney & Bourke Bag

Visiting museums is a favorite pastime of mine. I don't know much about art, but I do love looking at it. Lol! Also, it's a great way to spend a day off. Los Angeles is the home to over 50 museums, and most of them are free/affordable (bring your student i.d. if you have one).

This past Sunday, I went to The Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) on Grand. MOCA is relatively small compared to other museums, but the collections are really cool. My favorites are Chris Burden's Hell Gate, Hito Steyerl's Factory of the sun installation, Dan Flavin's Monument, and John Baldessari's I will not make any more boring art.

FIDM DEBUT 2016

Forever 21 Jacket + Bodysuit + Pencil Skirt, Gojane Heels, Zara Bag, Etsy Velvet Choker

Debut 2016 was nothing short of amazing. I've attended a total of 3 Debut shows now. The first time I saw it was when I got accepted into FIDM two years ago. The second time around I was a student, and this time I watched it as a graduate. I totally recommend everyone who loves fashion to attend at least one show. It's an inspiration to watch all the talented designers collections. I can't even begin to imagine how hard they worked to create such beautiful lines.

Let's be honest... (FIDM students can relate) This school is no joke. The past two years have been the most stressful experience of my life, but attending FIDM is the best decision I've ever made. Congrats to all the designers! Your collections were gorgeous. Also, a big congratulations to all the FIDM graduates. We did it!!!

One degree down and another one to go. Wish me the best of luck on getting into the next program.

DRESS OR JUMPSUIT?

Outfit Details: Ray-Ban AviatorEtsy Velvet ChokerForever 21 Jacket, Agaci Jumpsuit, Zara Bag, Charlotte Russe Shoes

It looks like a dress but it's actually a jumpsuit. The way this jumpsuit is structured is a little deceiving, because the extra fabric gathered on each side causes a flaring effect. It looks awkward from the side, but when you look at it face forward the drapery falls gorgeously. I bought this jumpsuit last summer, but I've only managed to wear it a few times. It's more ideal to wear during the warmer seasons since it's made up of breathable fabric, but the way I styled it makes for cool fall/winter vibes.
